My Desk
December 14, 2009I just made some AWESOME upgrades to my desk set up.
First, I picked up a tablet. I’ve been wanting a tablet for a while now and decided on the small Wacom Intous4, what a difference in my work flow!

I also picked up a monitor, I decided on Dell’s new 24 incher, the U2410. The size is good for me, it rotates from landscape to portrait in a snap, its got all the connections you could ever need, and the resolution/contrast is unreal.

I also got some new speakers, the Logitech LS21. They are small, compact, and sound great.

May 17, 2009Oregon Country Fair
April 28, 2009I just received word that I was accepted as a vendor for this years Oregon Country Fair! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Fair, it is an annual three-day fair that begins on the Friday of the second weekend in July in Veneta, Oregon, about 15 miles west of Eugene. Last year around 45,000 people attended.
The Fair began as a barter and craft fair in 1969 to raise funds for an alternative school and has been held every year since. It is a prime example of how “alternative” values such as cooperation, artistic creativity, naturalism, environmental awareness, localism, and concern for the welfare of the world can be successfully integrated. It really is an amazing event, if you are in the area you should ABSOLUTELY attend…and look me up!

Below are some photos I took last year
New toys
April 19, 2009Picked up some cool gadgets last week
First and foremost is a new backup system. I have far outgrown my onboard hard drive and have invested in a NAS. I decided on the Western Digital My Book World 1TB
The setup was super easy – just plug it into your router, run the included software and your up and running. 1TB should last me for a while, so far the system works for me.
I also picked up a new wireless router, the D-Link Rangebooster N Dual Band.
It produces a wireless signal on the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band giving me much faster transfer speeds and greater wireless coverage. This is a major upgrade from the century old Airport Express I was running before. So far the bump in speed is noticable, especially when transfering files to and from the new NAS.
And lastly I picked up a new thumb drive. The LaCie 8gb iamakey.
It replaces my trusty 512mb Sandisk micro cruiser, that thing lived on my keychain and made it through hell. The iamakey is made out of solid metal, has scratch and water resistant gold SIP contact points and seems to be fairly well built. The large capacity of this drive allows me to set up a portable apps system, if you havnt heard of portable apps, its definetly worth checking out.

“#5 Full City – 842 Pearl St (Bakery at 844 Pearl St). Full City features three talented artists: Richard Owens, Robert Adams, and Daniel Berman. Richard Owens prefers to create spontaneously, typically working without referencing detailed sketches, predetermined concepts or specific ideas on how the resulting image should look. This detached creative process often yields surprising results. A variety of processes have been used to create these images including lithography, intaglio, and relief printing. Robert Adams is originally from Suitland, Maryland outside Washington DC. His work is primarily mixed-media paintings, addressing tensions between the human and natural environment. He distills images and emphasizes bold graphics and symbols. Daniel Berman is a northwest born and raised photographer based out of Eugene, Oregon. He sees photography as a way to put a frame around life, showing us the extraordinary in the ordinary and the splendor in the world around us. His photographs are displayed throughout the northwest and have won numerous international awards.”
